1. Structure

The Library & Information Center has five divisions including the Information Service Division, the Collection Management Division, the Systems Support Division, the Network & Multimedia Section and the Cloud Computing Application Division to increase efficiency and provide better service.

Director’s Office

1. Planning and supervising library affairs.

2. Convening meetings, collecting information, keeping minutes, carrying out and following up the jobs assigned.

3. Receiving guests.

4. Collecting and reporting the information of school conferences.

5. Delivering and storing official documents, files and mails.

6. Recruiting part-timers, handling the Work-Study Grant applications and writing final reports.

7. Maintaining and managing personal computers.

8. Other temporary matters assigned.

Information Service Division

1. Drawing the related rules and regulations.

2. Lending and Borrowing Services.

3. Circulation Services.

4. Enquiries and Advices.

5. Interlibrary Loan Service.

6. Nationwide Document Delivery Service (NDDS). Regularly handing in the library catalogue to the Science & Technology Policy Research and Information Center of NAR Labs to be added into the Nationwide Union List of Serials.

7. Planning and executing the Library Guide Tour.

8. Planning, establishing and maintaining the library’s website.

9. Handling the circulation of INNOPAC, Web OPAC, and media request, maintaining the arguments setting of journal modules, and reporting problems.

10. Assisting with the backup work of INNOPAC.

11. Managing the Compact Disc Network, renewing the Compact Disc Database, and handling the related affairs of eThesys Theses and Dissertations System.

12. Managing the use of space and facilities of the Library and Information Center Building.

13. Maintaining and managing the related affairs of newspapers and journals.

14. Shelving, finding, checking, displaying and inventorying the books.

15. Collecting, storing, and lending the examination papers.

16. Planning, executing and promoting library’s activities.

17. Other temporary matters assigned.


System Support Division

1. Planning and controlling the budget.

2. Books recommendations.

3. Purchasing library materials

4. Ordering and Gifting books.

5. Cataloguing and handling the authority control of library materials.

6. Institutional Repository.

7. Collecting textbooks.

8. Cataloguing the electronic resources and setting up and checking up the URL.

9. Setting up and maintaining the web page.

10. Maintaining the quality of the INNOPAC bibliography and the database of library collection.

11. Nationwide cataloging. Regularly handing in the bibliography of INNOPAC and the record of library collection to the National Bibliographic Information Center to be added into the National Bibliography.

12. Uploading the bibliography of dissertations to OCLC Worldcat database, the biggest Bibliographic system of   Western articles.

13. Procuring INNOPAC, maintaining the cataloging module, and reporting problems.

14. Inspecting the e-files of dissertations and providing printing service.

15. Drawing and amending rules and regulations.

16. Reporting library’s budget and the record of library collection, analyzing statistics and submitting work reports.

17. Other temporary matters assigned.

System Support Division

1. Backing up and maintaining the Integrated Database of First Tech.

2. Maintaining the Web Online Searching system.

3. Developing and maintaining the School Information System.

4. Managing the web page.

5. Convening the Steering Committee for Digitalization of Administrative Business.

6. Other temporary matters assigned.

Network and Multimedia Division
1. Maintaining and managing the backbone and the wireless network of school.

2. Distributing the IP Address of campus network and managing the flow.

3. Network Problem Enquiry and Troubleshooting Service.

4. Controlling and managing the web mail of First Tech.

5. Maintaining, managing and purchasing the network server of First Tech.

6. Maintaining and managing the data center and offices of First Tech and the ePage System.

7. Reporting the information security incidents.

8. Maintaining and managing the Multimedia Studio.

9. Maintaining and managing the Distance Learning Classroom.

10. Maintaining and managing the audiovisual facilities of the International Conference Hall and the Group Discussion Rooms.

11. Related affairs of Information Security Management System (convening the ISMS meetings, collecting the information, keeping the minutes, auditing and verifying).

12. Promoting the protection of Campus Intellectual property (convening the Executive Group Meetings, keeping the minutes, collecting the Self-evaluation Sheet of Action Plan and maintaining the web page and the Consulting Mailbox).

13. Promoting the Personal Information Protection Act in First Tech (convening the Executive Group Meetings, collecting the information, keeping the minutes, managing the related documents and auditing).

14. Supervising and managing the use of software of school’s computers.

Cloud Computing Application Division

1. Managing and maintaining Big Data system.

2. Managing Primo, system of searching for resources.

3. Managing and maintaining Cloud system.

4. Create teaching materials and related matters of MOOCs courses.

5. Operating and maintaining audio-visual equipment in LIC International Conference Hall and Group Discussion Rooms on the sixth floor.

6. Operating and maintaining audio-visual equipment in the audio-visual center and rooms.

7. Managing and maintaining multimedia server host on campus.

8. Managing and maintaining equipment in Distance Learning classrooms.

9. Managing and maintaining systems of e-page and homepage of the university.

10. Assisting teachers in the university in creating online teaching material with multimedia.

11. Videotaping seminars, conferences held on campus.

12. Managing and maintaining system on campus.

13. Broadcasting activities instantly and other related matters.

14. Managing and maintaining school poster printers.

15. Managing and maintaining videos and files of online teaching

16. Managing and maintaining audiovisual equipment in International Conference Hall.
